We are set up to be a Regional EEG
That means all participants supplied by the same substation can generally establish a regional energy cooperative. (the green part of the map)
"Local" renewable energy cooperative receive a greater reduction in network charges than regional ones. But that would mean be a very small amount of participants could join, so we are set up for to function on a "regional" scale to be able to bring together a greater community.

Who can become a member?
Both private households and organizations ( associations, municipalities, and private businesses ) can become members. As a member, you can purchase electricity from us, supply your surplus electricity, or make roof space available.
Who is our target audience?
Our target group consists of individuals and organizations for whom a fair and stable electricity price is more important than short-term profits. People who will support our project long-term, even when the market fluctuates. We're looking for people who are committed to a just energy transition , ensuring that future generations have the same opportunities as previous generations. Those who join us consciously choose stability and responsibility – not quick profits.
Where does our green electricity come from?
Our green electricity comes 100% from Austria, with a preference for green electricity from the Tyrol region. We aim to minimize transmission losses and simultaneously relieve the strain on the power grid. For every 100 km of overhead power line, the transmission loss is approximately 1%. This means that electricity from, for example, Norway can result in a loss of up to 15%. Additional transmission losses occur at substations. These two factors contribute to a total transmission loss of approximately 6% in the power grid, given the average distances between consumers and power plants typical in Central Europe.
Do you need to switch your electricity provider?
No , you can keep your current electricity supplier as usual. We are an additional service to your existing supplier. As a member, you will receive a separate electricity bill for our regional electricity.
The switch between us and your existing supplier happens automatically and without interruption, meaning you won't notice anything. Your supply remains 100% secure around the clock .
How much green electricity can we supply?
For now, the simple rule is: the moment the sun shines on our panels, you can draw solar power from us. You can therefore influence your electricity supply from the Stromkreis network by using your electrical appliances (e.g., electric boiler, washing machine) precisely when the sun is strongest, i.e., around midday (especially in the winter months).
To ensure we can also supply you with electricity when the sun isn't shining, we plan to incorporate other alternative renewable energy sources in the future.
Is your power supply secure even if the Stromkreis is not supplying power?
Yes, absolutely! Should we be unable to supply electricity, for example, if the sun isn't shining, your existing electricity supplier will automatically step in and ensure that your power supply continues smoothly. This means no interruption for you – your needs will be reliably met during this time by your current electricity provider (such as TINETZ or IKB).
What is our standard electricity tariff based on?
Green electricity has its price. Because we operate on a cost-recovery basis (i.e., not profit-oriented) and our standard tariff is based on the actual average production costs (levelized cost of electricity), our members pay for green electricity what it's truly worth. So, if the market moves towards cheaper solar power, you'll benefit as well. Irrational market prices definitely don't play a role for us. And that's not just marketing hype; we mean it.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of our tariffs?
For electricity consumers
Advantage: No surprises on the electricity bill – in times of rapidly rising electricity prices, our tariff remains stable and predictable.
The downside is that we deliberately do not offer discount prices, as our focus is on fair, cost-covering prices. Therefore, our electricity may be somewhat more expensive compared to dumping prices, but in return, we consistently prioritize the common good and environmental responsibility.
For electricity suppliers:
Advantage: You can plan for the long term, as our tariffs ensure that your systems pay for themselves (we guarantee that we never go below the cost of generating electricity).
The downside is that you won't get rich with us, but you won't get poor either. Instead, you'll be making an important contribution to a sustainable future.
