Kārlis Bardelis, with no prior rowing experience, achieved the unimaginable: becoming the first and only person in the world to row solo across the Pacific Ocean from Peru to Asia. Along the way, he earned six Guinness World Records, inspiring everyone to chase our dreams with courage and determination.

Latvian Karlis Bardelis circumnavigates the world using only human power. Yes, You got it right - without an engine or sails!
It has been 2898 days or 7 years and 11 months. Karlis and his friend rowed the Atlantic Ocean from Namibia to Brazil in 142 days, then he embarked on 101 day tandem biking across South America with another friend. Navigated the Pacific Ocean solo for almost 2 years, of course making several stops on islands along the way. 9 days of Indian Ocean from Sri Lanka to Maldives was covered together with Dimitri Kieffer, but the rest of 163 was rowed alone. Circumnavigation concluded with a solo cycling across Africa from Kenya to Namibia. 46 326 km rowed and 11 972 km cycled.
During the long adventure, Karlis faced numerous challenges and a year and a half long pause because of Covid disruption. Prolonged periods of time while raising the funds to continue the expedition. A dangerous turn happened when unexpectedly strong winds diverted his boat towards the hazardous coast of Somalia instead of the intended destination in Tanzania. Karlis was almost hit by a fishing vessel and hit by sharks. In the Indian ocean, he had a 360 capsize. He has also become the first person ever to row from South America to Asia and Asia to to Africa a milestones that are documented in the Guinness World Records book (6 Guinness World Records)
